There are instructions on how to use SamFirm Tool to download the firmware for any Samsung smartphone or tablet.
Requirements: To download the correct firmware, you need to know the exact model number of your Samsung device and the region.
Download Samsung Firmware using SamFirm Tool
- Download and extract the latest version of the SamFirm Tool on your computer. Once you have extracted the SamFirm Tool, you will be able to see the following files:
- Open the SamFirm.exe to launch the tool.
- Once SamFirm is Launched, you will see the following screen:
- Select the “Auto” Checkbox.
- Write the model number of your device under “Model Number”. For example, SM-N960F is the model number for Galaxy Note 9.
- Write the region code of your country under “Region” (e.g. INS or INU for India).
- Please click the “Check update” button.
- SamFirm displays the full file name, version, and size of your device’s latest firmware.
- To begin downloading, please click on the “Download” button.
- Please select the location where you would like to save the firmware on your computer.
- The downloading process will start automatically and might take a few minutes to complete, depending on the firmware size and internet speed.
- After the downloading process is complete, the decrypting process will begin automatically. This process may take a few minutes to finish.
- After the decryption process is finished, please exit the SamFirm tool.
- Go to the location where you saved the firmware in Step 10. For example, we have saved it in Desktop > SamFirm > SM-N960F.
- Extract the final zip firmware on your computer to acquire the tar.md5 file.
Use the Odin Download Tool to install firmware on your Samsung device.
